Members' Code of Conduct

Please note that this process is only for complaints about the conduct of councillors serving on the Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue Authority (BFRA). It is not for general complaints or compliments against the Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue Service & or its employees.

Complaints procedure

The Authority has, in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011, adopted a Member Code of Conduct and has put in place arrangements for dealing with allegations that a Member or Members may have breached this Code. The Member Code of Conduct can be found in the Fire Authority Handbook.


How to make a complaint

If you wish to complain about the conduct of a Member of the Authority you must submit your complaint to:

Please note that the process outlined in the complaints guidance only applies to allegations that a Member or Members may have failed to follow the Code of Conduct. It will not deal with complaints about things that are not covered by the Members' Code of Conduct.
